On Repeat

Hi all:

After a brief hiatus for the holiday weekend we trust that everyone is eager to resume rehearsals this coming Saturday October 15th. As we are welcoming new membership throughout this term and have suffered some location disruption, we’ll be repeating information many of you already know – sorry if this drives you batty:

Rehearsal space

Ryerson United Church at 842 Main Street East, at the corner of Springer Ave. We will be meeting downstairs in the Assembly Hall. Enter through the beige doors on the Springer Ave. side. These doors remain locked so use the buzzer to get in. There is also a handicap-accessible elevator entrance at the orange door at the south end of the building and this elevator opens downstairs right in the Assembly Hall. Rehearsals will continue to be on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12 noon, through to December 3

Parking

Street parking is available, but please pay attention to the signs. There is very limited parking on church property. The dental building on the east side of Springer and the credit union just west of the church are both closed on Saturdays, so their parking lots are available for our use. Please note that church users are NOT to park at the nearby Adelaide Hoodless School.

HSR Transit options

  • ROUTE 5 DELAWARE EASTBOUND OR WESTBOUND – stop at Maplewood / Springer and walk north on Springer
  • ROUTE 1 KING EASTBOUND – stop at Main / Ashford and walk east on Main then south on Springer
  • ROUTE 1 KING WESTBOUND – stop at King / Fairholt and walk east to Barnesdale then south to Main then east to Springer
  • ROUTE 10 B-LINE EXPRESS EASTBOUND stop at Main opposite Melrose and walk west to Springer
  • ROUTE 10 B-LINE EXPRESS WESTBOUND – stop at King / Melrose and walk south to Main then west to Springer

Set-up and tear down

Seating in the Ryerson Assembly hall involves setting up some chairs and putting them away at the end of our sessions. Those of you strong in limb and giving by nature are invited to arrive a little early to help set things up. It’s your choir after all. 🙂

Session fees and donations

Though some of the best things in life are free, alas, involvement in HS!CC is not. We suggest a fee of $150/term or pay what you can (PWYC). And we’re serious about PWYC – whatever modest contribution you can afford is good by us. Alternatively, you can make a concrete contribution of your valuable time as a volunteer.

Best way to get your fee or donation to us is by e-transfer to treasurer.hamiltonsings@gmail.com

Home Practice and website resources

Throughout the term our hard-working music directors Piper and Hanna will provide resources for our webmaster Bob to post on the private members page at hamiltonsings.ca. These resources include lyrics, sheet music, voice part audio files, and links to youtube videos. We encourage you to log in and practice during the course of your week. PLEASE remember that these resources are you your exclusive use only. http://hamiltonsings.ca/music-autumn-2022/#1663776700338-98f1795d-c672
