Hamilton Sings! Community Choir
Hi Gang
Pinch me, I must be dreaming. I can get by car to Toronto in under 40 minutes, line up to buy groceries at Costco for 40 minutes, and fill my gas tank for under $40. I’ve never seen so many beverage alcohol containers in the recycling bins of my neighbourhood or exchanged so many furtive glances with fellow dog owners trying to exercise their pets somewhere, anywhere, that doesn’t have a sign declaring “Park closed. No trespassing.” Whew.
Of course, other changes are afoot. Take note of the following developments:
Today is LAST CHANCE FOR BLUEBERRIES! Order now for safe delivery next Saturday afternoon April 18th. Place your orders by way of our web ordering page at hamiltonsings.ca
Our May 24th spring concert is cancelled. No surprise there.
We will be hosting a Zoom Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 30th. AGM packages will be emailed to you by April 30th. Nominations are open for a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 3 new board members, with elections to take place at the AGM.
Zoom on-line rehearsals will continue until May 23rd. And, in the spirit of inclusiveness for these isolating times, we’ll be contacting HS Alumni and other groups to see if they’d like to sing along with us. Feel free to consider inviting your friends – we’ll be re-opening our web site registration page for newcomers. As always, pay-what-you-can donations are greatly appreciated.
I admit to being deeply distracted by the fact that the restaurant business I’ve been working at for the last 32 years may not survive the challenges ahead. All of us, in our own way, are going to have to face some deep, systemic changes to how we work, play, and sing. Here’s hoping each and every one of you can find the strength it takes to go forward. As tempting as it is to add to the load in the recycling bin, humming a favourite tune works best for me.
