Tireless Tara

Dear Fellow Singers

As mentioned last week, your co-chorister, the tireless Tara Bolker, is seeking digital photographs of the word “HAMILTON” to grace a poster advertising our term end concert entitled “Hamilton Sings Hamilton Songs”. All colours, fonts, and creative liberties taken with this historic 8-letter word for your home town are welcome. Send your finds to publicity.hamiltonsings@gmail.com

Our rehearsal space at The Sherman Boys and Girls Club is kindly contributed to us free of charge, though we do try to make routine contributions to their worthy cause. Another way of supporting their club (and us) would be to attend their annual fundraiser Friday March 6th, 6:30pm to 11:30pm. $100/person gets you dinner and dancing to the Liverpool 4 Beatles Tribute Band at Michelangelo’s Banquet Hall at 1555 Upper Ottawa Street. You’ll also receive a $50 tax receipt, participate in door prizes, and compete for “best costume prizes”. Dress like you’re mates of the Fab Four. What fun! For tickets, email sherman@kboysandgirlsclub.com

By now, you must have visited the private choir members page at hamiltonsings.ca. If you’ve run into problems logging on – please do not be shy about confirming the password with us. The voice files you find there will be updated throughout the term, so visit the site often. Even a small amount of additional practice at home will go a long way towards building your confidence with the tunes and liberate you from the ‘prison of the page’. This Saturday, we plan on running Carry On and Butterfly.

Please try to remember to bring dry shoes on wet days so the hard-working custodial staff don’t suffer further toil on our account. Additionally, as we’re oftentimes shoulder to shoulder in our pursuit of a song, refrain from wearing any scented products, as some of us are highly sensitive. You must however, have fun fun fun!

Cheers,

Brenda Atkinson
Co-chorister
